Interview #1
M: "How do you like your memory book?"
C: "I love it!"
M: "Can you tell me why you like it so much?"
C: "I love looking at the book. It can be after a couple of days, a week or so. I love reading what happened a while back. I enjoy seeing what I wrote and people who come to see me."
M: "How do you feel after reading your book?"
C: "Well, I enjoy....I feel like I am not as dumb as I thought. I do have some brains!"
M: No one thinks that! You are very intelligent!
C: " I used to get very frustrated when I couldn't remember things. I would sit in my room and not try".
M: "What is different now? "
C: "I still have trouble remembering things, but now; well, I have a book to look at to help me remember what happened in the past. It is nice being able to read what happened a few days or weeks ago. It also gives me something to read at night when there is nothing else to do."
M: " Is there anything else you like about your book?"
C: " I love the photo section. Under every picture there is something written! It is hard to remember everyones names, especially the grand children and great-grandchildren! My great-grandchildren bring me drawings they did in school and we put it in my book. It makes it special. It is nice to be able to look at my book at night. It gives me something to so and I enjoy reading what happened a few days ago. It helps me remember some things too! I am wanting to do more things now instead of staying in my room. Do you do this book for everyone?"
M: "No, not everyone is appropriate for Treasured Moments. I do think there are many people out there that could benefit from it, but do not know about it. That is why I thought this interview would be a good way to let people know how others enjoy it."
C: "Well, I definately think it is a WONDERFUL book and I thank you so much for making it for me. It is very special to me."
